Main visual for news about WiseFood in the last six months.

After months of co-design and development, the project has now reached an important milestone with the release of the first prototypes of its applications. These tools allow users to explore nutrition, environmental impact, and personalised meal planning in a practical, everyday context.

In this edition, we introduce the first version of the WiseFood applications to collect user feedback, we share insights from co-design workshops across Ireland, Slovenia, and Hungary, and we highlight recent consortium activities, webinars, events, and new collaborations shaping the next phase of the project.

Meet the First Versions of WiseFood Applications

Demo Applications

The first WiseFood results are here! Three demo applications are now available to explore practical ways of supporting healthier and more sustainable food choices:

  • FoodScholar helps users access curated information on nutrition, health, and sustainability through natural language questions.
  • RecipeWrangler analyses recipes for nutritional value and environmental impact, while suggesting potential improvements.
  • FoodChat provides personalised meal plans and recipe suggestions designed to support healthy and sustainable habits and to reduce food waste.

Users Helping Shape WiseFood Applications Across Three Countries

Towards the release of the first prototypes of the WiseFood demo applications, co-design workshops were organised across the WiseFood Living Labs in Ireland, Slovenia, and Hungary to gather feedback from future users.

Participants explored FoodScholar, RecipeWrangler, and FoodChat through everyday scenarios, sharing experiences, identifying practical challenges, and suggesting improvements.

The feedback collected will further support the next development phase, helping ensure the applications respond to real household needs and daily habits.
